“THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH”
No female vampires. No half breeds. No bonds with humans. For as long as vampires have owned the night, this has been the law. And even after a thousand years of Brotherhood, some vampires are willing to kill each other to keep these laws sacred.
In the follow-up to the bestselling Thicker Than Water, the Blood Brothers are placed at odds once again when a vicious former cop finds the body of his daughter bled dry and swears revenge on Thor. With Tyr's human girlfriend locked in their house and Loki publicly proclaiming his heritage on stage at his club, everyone is playing with fire, and things are about to spiral out of control on a level they never have before.
Set in Las Vegas in the days immediately following Thicker Than Water, The Wages of Sin ups the ante in terms of blood, sex, and bad behavior.
Welcome back to Sin City. Welcome back to Blood Brothers.
ABOUT THE "BLOOD BROTHERS" VAMPIRE SERIES
The Wages of Sin marks the second novel in the Blood Brothers vampire series, following 2011's Thicker Than Water. Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology and the works of Shakespeare, the series spans 1,000 years and half the globe, telling the story of two brothers and the rise and fall of their bloodthirsty clan. The series paints vampires as gods, preying on humanity from the shadows as they steer the events of history.
Each of the four novels in the Blood Brothers vampire series will tell both a present day story and an historical story set sometime within the last 1,000 years, gradually unveiling the mystery of the Brothers' origin and the details of their fall.
The Wages of Sin Blood Brothers Vampire Series Book 2 edition by Greg Sisco Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
"The Wages of Sin" is the second novel in Greg Sisco's incredible Blood Brothers vampire series and I continue to be blown away by him. Overall, this is the third of his novels that I have read, and I had this one finished by day two. It's that good.In this second installment of the story, we find the brothers still living in Las Vegas where one miss-step after another leads them further and further into very dangerous territory. Loki begins to step out into a spotlight which makes it very uncomfortable for his brothers. At the same time, Tyr's relationship and feelings for Eva continue to drive a wedge between him and the others. Soon, new characters emerge that complicate matters further, including the brothers being pursued by not one, but two entities. And it's not altogether certain what will happen when they finally locate them.
Much like book one, book two takes us half a world and a thousand years back with some very wonderful stories that color the plot well and provide great depth to the characters. Using his gift for wit, biting sarcasm and masterful pacing, Sisco will have you turning those pages no matter what better things you think you should be doing with your time.
Previously, Sisco proclaimed that he wanted to return vampires to where they rightfully belonged, rescuing them from the "soft" genres. I can assure you that he continues to do this and does not disappoint. He hasn't erased the original mythology, giving his vampires new abilities or powers, but has simply brought them into the new century as we would fully expect them to act. There's nothing wrong with enjoying your vampires on the lighter side of the genre, if that's what you prefer; however, if you're looking for the serious stuff: the bloodletting and the horror - you can stop looking right now. Sisco's got the goods.

The Wages of Sin Blood Brothers Vampire Series Book 2 edition by Greg Sisco Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
In The Wages of Sin, the story of the Blood Brothers continues where Thicker Than Water left off.
The relationship between Loki and Tyr is deteriorating even further when Tyr keeps protecting Eva. As if the brother's relationship wasn't bad enough, there's a little birdy (well a big birdy called The Butcher) whispering in their ear, manipulating them...
And Thor... he's caught in the middle, watching his 1000-year old brothers behave like little kids...
The Wages of Sin is NOT a vampire paranormal romance. This series is for people who like darker stuff and don't shy away from some violence and gore.
Greg Sisco amazes me once again with his impeccable prose and his merciless sense of humor. I was so excited to read about Tyr, Locki and Thor's tribulations, I finished the book in three sittings. Sisco doesn't believe in sparkly vampires who also feel; his Blood Brothers are no sissies. They kill for pleasure, and rule the Earth like the superior species they were born to be. Mingling with humans for more than a bloodbath shows weakness, and is unforgivable.
Now vampires aren't immune to making mistakes. When it comes to wanting their fifteen minutes of fame, everything becomes a game - with dangerous consequences. Humans get turned, a former girlfriend gets pregnant with a little vampire fetus and the world starts the Millennium on a bittersweet note.
I cannot wait for Volume Three to come out. Is there a word that can describe how much of a fan I am of Sisco's work? I don't wanna say groupie, because I don't follow Sisco around the world... yet. ;) Great job as always.
it was a little slow at times but I like stories like this, vampire stuff, I read it all the way through, good enough!
Great at going back in time to explain history of brothers but felt sometimes stuck in that past for too long. Probably would read third installment if written.
I choose 4 stars because I thought it was good but felt a little rushed. I couldn't wait to finish it it kept me interested till the end. I would recommend it.
If you enjoy vampire love stories with a happy ending and a romantic lead that look into your eyes, this book is not for you. There is violence, murder and betrayal. There are also interesting characters and story lines that keep you wondering what will happen next. There is a struggle between good and bad, which for vampires is a different point of reference than us mortals. The writing is good and gives the book a nice flow.
I guess I can safely say I've been waiting about as long as the author to see this story play out on the page.
Vampires are still under attack by sappy, s***** soccer-mom wannabe writers and they're in danger of being made to look and seem bitchy, whiny and moody for good. Luckily we now have a saga that can fight back and it fights back with bigger and better ammo.
That ammo consists of the three Blood Brothers who continue their story that takes us back to Las Vegas for a night club's grand opening and widens the gulf between thousand year old brothers Loki and Tyr as the latter's human girlfriend fights to cling to life as cancer takes its hold.
Along the way we get more excellently depicted scenes of Viking invasion, old English courtship and a peak at the Norse origins of our Blood Brothers' titles.
If you enjoyed Thicker Than Water and yearn for another stout shot hard liquor among the fruity vampire cocktails, don't hesitate to pick up The Wages of Sin.
